The coastal zone of south western Victoria has spectacular coastal formations of towering cliffs, extensive dune systems, intertidal areas, coastal heathlands, and dynamic estuarine and marine environments.

Such diverse habitat areas are home to just as diverse flora and fauna including Rare Ecological Vegetation Classes and numerous threatened species.
